about

Born and raised in Wollongong, NSW, Phoebe's developing passion for fine art and other creative processes begun in her years studying at a performing arts high school in her hometown. Phoebe is currently a Bachelor of Fine Arts student at the National Art School, finishing her 3rd and final year, majoring in painting.

In Phoebe’s art practice, she has been exploring lyrical abstraction, nurturing instinctual movement and creating natural forms drawn from themes of internal pain, both physical and emotional. Through experimentation of working primarily in oils, she has adopted the use of bold colours, particularly pinks, and nonrepresentational shapes to encapsulate her observations of her surrounding environment. Her love for the abstract-expressionist and lyrical abstraction periods and exploring new ways of creating, leads her into an open and raw direction in her practice, further developing and evolving physical elements in her paintings.
